Serving our Nation's Capital Nearly 30 Years
|
Washington Cable was incorporated in the District of Columbia corporation in 1979. Our principal
business is private cable, the reception and distribution of television programming relayed via satellite,
microwave and other means, to apartment buildings, offices and government agencies in the Washington
metropolitan area.
Besides offering customized satellite-cable TV service, Washington Cable also provides maintenance of
building master antenna television systems. Washington Cable currently maintains the master antenna
systems in many high-rise rental, condominium and cooperative apartment buildings in Southwest and
Northwest Washington, as well as buildings in Virginia and Maryland.
Washington Cable's chief executive officer, Dr. Perry Klein has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Pennsylvania, specializing in communications and navigation satellites. He has published
widely in these fields, and had two patents for navigation satellite systems. For ten years, he designed,
developed, tested, launched, and operated several OSCAR communications satellites as president and
general manager of AMSAT, the international Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation. Before that, for four
years he was an engineer with the technical staff at Communications Satellite Corporation and COMSAT
Labs.
Joseph Klein, General Manager since 1984, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan,
and has a Master's from Harvard. He was formerly business manager of the Aegis School in upstate New
York, where he was responsible for computer operations, program development, financial planning and
